Did you know where the name Earl Gray tea comes from?

Receives its name from Charles Gray, 2nd Earl of Grey, and British Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834. Supposedly, the bergamot-flavored tea was a gift – probably a diplomatic gratification. Legend has it that a grateful Mandarin Chinese, whose son had been rescued from drowning by one of Lord Grey's men, first presented the mixture to the Earl in 1803.

The story has no basis since Lord Gray never traveled to China, where, furthermore, the use of bergamot oil added to tea was unknown.

Furthermore, the most consumed tea in China was and is green tea today. But if you go around telling it, you will look very cultured.
